Questions
Frequently asked questions
The things homeowners ask us most, answered straight. If yours isn't here, just ask.
How much does a renovation cost?
It depends on the size of the space, the materials you choose, and how much structural, plumbing or electrical work is involved. Rather than quote a range that turns out to be wrong, we walk the space, talk through what you want, and give you an itemized written estimate so you can see exactly what drives the number.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. The consultation and the written estimate cost nothing and come with no obligation. You're free to take the quote and think about it, or compare it against others.
How long does a project take?
Timelines vary with scope and with how quickly materials arrive. We give you a realistic schedule with your estimate rather than an optimistic one, and we tell you as soon as anything changes it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — we carry full licensing and insurance for the work we perform, and we're happy to provide documentation before you sign anything.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. Where a project needs permits, we pull them and coordinate inspections as part of the job, so the finished work is properly signed off.
Will I be able to live in my home during the work?
Usually, yes. We set up dust barriers, protect floors and walkways, and clean the site at the end of every day. For larger projects we'll talk through which rooms are out of service and for how long before we start.
What happens if something needs fixing after the job is done?
Tell us and we'll come back. Our workmanship is warranted, and the terms are written into your estimate so there's no ambiguity later.
How do payments work?
Payment is scheduled in stages tied to progress on the job, with the terms set out in your written estimate before any work begins. We don't ask for the full amount up front.
